Evaluation (BBC)

Image
Evaluation Investigation and Analysis At the beginning of the project, I was given a brief of what BBC Three wanted for their product. they wanted a short documentary about 10-15 minutes long about Culture in the digital age. This topic is a vast one so there was a lot of room for interpretation. but before settling on a set idea I had to research my client and who they were. after that, I researched some documentaries and tried to gauge the cliches of documentaries like talking heads and voice of god. and finally, I did a mix of both researching documentaries and my client by looking at short documentaries that BBC Three had done to understand their style of doing things and anything I could potentially add later on to suit their mold of a documentary. After this was my audience research as I was told in the brief my audience would be young people so I conducted focus groups and surveys with my classmates to get an understanding of young people's opinions on documentaries and...

Final Product And Feedback (BBC)

Documentary Pre-FeedBack Here is the video that I showed to my classmates to give feedback on this was uploaded straight after I rendered and did the screen recording. I asked my classmates to give feedback so I could do some last-minute improvements or changes so I could potentially upgrade the overall quality of the documentary. Feedback Here is what some of them had to say about the documentary. The main thing that they pointed out was that one of the clips near the end of the documentary wasn't available and that there were a few spelling mistakes. I'm not really sure how that clip became offline as I checked it straight after and it was fine but I'm sure it will fix itself. The spelling mistakes are a prime example of why getting feedback is important as things like that make the final product look amateurish. These things will be rectified as soon as possible  Documentary Post Feed Back/Final Product This after everything this is the final product. I can't lie I ...

Post Production Diary (BBC)

Intro Scene Editing Now that all of the filming had been planned and done I could move on to editing both projects as quickly as possible. so the first thing I did was start at the beginning of I See Her Online, All The Time. This scene was relatively easy as it was only three shots of Rebecca walking in, sitting down and staring at her phone.  I had to cut down the three clips in terms of duration so people won't get bored and stop watching but still long enough to show off what's happening and also keep a level of intrigue from the audience. Another thing i did was for the last clip of Rebecca in the dark I unlinked the video and audio and deleted the audio. The way i would do this was by left clicking on the clip then right clicking to which id be met with alot of commands and one of them would be 'Unlink' so i would click that and the audio and video would no longer be connected. The reason I did this was so the title drop would be more impactful and the isolate...

Production: I See Her Online, All The Time/ My Skin Is Fire, It's So Desired (BBC)

The Intro Scene The first day of production was the 29th April on a Saturday the shooting location as me and Rebecca had already agreed to see each other that day so we decided to take the opportunity to film the intro to the documentary. As previous posts have described the into is simple it's three shots all at different times with different lighting to signify the change in time. I decided to shoot in Rebecca's bedroom rather than mine because their room has a lot more things in terms of mis en scene and just would look more interesting to the audience as a whole. The first shot we took as soon as i got there as the natural lighting would be only available for a short time here is some footage of us from behind the scenes. With these shots I tried tracking Rebecca's movements when coming in to the room and in different spots in the room as well as just standing still and waiting for them to come in into shot. we ended up shooting it 4 times in different ways. After shoot...
