Pre-Production: Creative Elements (BBC)

In Depth Look At The Subject This video was made to be used as a basis for the information I could use to refer back to when in production. It also explains briefly some of the logistics for the project I have made a more in detail video on that in my logistics elements post. I felt making video diaries during the pre-production could serve as a good insight into my creative process while also keeping in practice some editing skills.  Also because of the song's themes, I will be talking about how people's mental health has been affected by phones and social media.  Finding My Title I have been really struggling to find a title for the documentary that sounded appealing. So I decided to make a video exploring the few ideas I had at the beginning by explaining what I thought was good and bad about them after going through those ideas I tried a few different experiments like using Chat GPT to show off the power of the internet and how young people are now usin...

Production: I See Her Online, All The Time/ My Skin Is Fire, It's So Desired (BBC)

The Intro Scene The first day of production was the 29th April on a Saturday the shooting location as me and Rebecca had already agreed to see each other that day so we decided to take the opportunity to film the intro to the documentary. As previous posts have described the into is simple it's three shots all at different times with different lighting to signify the change in time. The first shot we took as soon as i got there as the natural lighting would be only available for a short time here is some footage of us from behind the scenes. With these shots I tried tracking Rebecca's movements when coming in to the room and in different spots in the room as well as just standing still and waiting for them to come in into shot. we ended up shooting it 4 times in different ways. After shoot...

Investigation And Analyses (BBC)

Investigation And Analyses  Client Research  Research BBC.pptx from LewisJB This PowerPoint was made to assemble all of the research I did on the client and documentaries into one place. As mentioned in the PowerPoint, the BBC is a conglomerate which means that they are a very large company that owns smaller companies and allow the companies they own to be self-governed by their own CEOs while still owning stakes in that company. It also means that they are an international company and can use their own platforms to show their products (shows/movies). I briefly mentioned that in the beginning days of the BBC they used an early form of Uses And Gratification theory. This theory was made by Katz and Blumler. Client Content During my research on BBC Three I tried to look at some short documentaries that they themselves had done to try and see any similarities in their work that I could incorporate into my own work. Above are two documentaries...
